Volkswagen Group is market leader in European key accounts

Approx. 14 percent increase in passenger car registrations on five largest EU individual markets

The Volkswagen Group holds pole position overall in key accounts business on the five largest EU markets of Germany, UK, France, Spain and Italy. According to Dataforce, a total of 320,079 vehicles (previous year: 280,932) produced by the Wolfsburg-based group with its Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda and SEAT passenger car brands were registered to key accounts in the first half of 2011. This figure corresponds to an increase of 13.9 percent.

In the passenger car brand ranking the Škoda brand was particularly successful in the first half year with 31,008 registrations, representing an increase of 24.1 percent, as was the SEAT brand, which reported 22,950 new registrations, a rise of 21.7 percent. As the best premium brand, Audi grew registrations by 4.4 percent to 95,730 vehicles. The Volkswagen brand remains by far the most successful brand in the ranking for the five largest EU individual markets, with registrations rising by 17.2 percent to 170,391 units.

"The Volkswagen Group has further extended its lead in Europe. Developments on the European fleet market are generally positive, but we remain very vigilant," Martin Jahn, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Fleet International, said.
