NWR: OKD wins PR award for its Corporate Responsibility programme

This award recognises the efforts of all our employees who participated in the preparation and operation of the OKD Foundation, in rehabilitation of the landscape, sponsorship activities, and new projects aimed at OKD employees over the past year," Mašínová commented.

In 2008, OKD significantly changed the focus of its CSR activities. In addition to sponsoring culture and sports, it established a corporate foundation, which distributed more than 62 million Czech Crowns through 403 projects supporting health care, social areas, education, leisure, national minorities' interests, and restoration of parks and school premises. These activities were supported by an extensive informational campaign featuring prominent figures from the region including representatives of the public, academic and commercial sectors, who evaluated the contribution of the mining company to the development of science, sports, culture and the environment.
